Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive direct patient care, including initial assessments, nursing diagnoses, care plan formulation, implementation, and regular evaluations. Work with patients to ensure they understand their care strategies and health management.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team. Monitor patients for any adverse effects and document appropriately.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medication management, and discharge plans to promote better health outcomes and self-management.
  • Monitoring: Observe and record patient conditions, vital signs, and progress, responding promptly to any changes. Use electronic health records (EHR) to document patient interactions accurately.
  • Collaboration: Engage in daily interdisciplinary team meetings with physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous documentation of all patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Compliance: Uphold all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding infection control and patient safety protocols.
  • Emergency Response: Demonstrate quick thinking and proficient skills in emergency situations, providing life-saving interventions when required.
  • Training and Mentorship: Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members or nursing students, sharing your expertise to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus The RN will care for a diverse population that may include elderly patients, individuals recovering from surgery, and patients managing chronic diseases. Understanding the unique needs of individuals experiencing varying levels of health challenges is critical for providing personalized care. The RN will serve as a key advocate for patients, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and supported in their care journey.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) may be accepted if accompanied by relevant clinical experience.
  • Licensure: A current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in New Jersey is mandatory.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required; specialty certifications, such as CCRN or CEN, are advantages.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), excellent organizational abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.

Preferred Experience Ideal candidates will have at least two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in settings such as critical care, pediatrics, or mental health. Experience working in community health environments will also be advantageous, enabling the RN to address diverse patient needs effectively.
