Job Description The core duties of a dental receptionist generally fall into four main categories: 1. Patient Communication and Service ️ Greeting and Check-In: Warmly welcoming patients and visitors upon arrival, managing the patient flow, and assisting patients with new patient forms or updates to their information. Answering Phones: Managing high-volume incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate dental staff. Managing Correspondence: Responding to patient emails, texts, and other forms of communication professionally. Handling Patient Concerns: Addressing patient questions regarding appointments, office policies, or billing, and providing compassionate support to nervous patients. 2. Scheduling and Office Administration ️ Appointment Management: Scheduling, confirming, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments to optimize the clinical team's schedule and minimize patient wait times. Patient Records: Creating, updating, and maintaining confidential electronic and paper patient files, including medical history, treatment plans, and contact information, while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Clerical Tasks: Performing general office duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and managing incoming and outgoing mail. Inventory: Monitoring and managing the inventory of office supplies and, in some cases, coordinating with dental supply vendors. Required qualifications:
