Position Overview As a Director of Health and Safety at Workwarp, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead and manage a team of safety professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of safety initiatives. Your expertise in safety analytics, change management, and risk assessment will be invaluable in driving continuous improvement in safety performance across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures: Create, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and Manage a Team of Safety Professionals: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of safety initiatives and drive safety excellence.
• Utilize Safety Analytics and Metrics: Analyze data, design dashboarding efforts, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve safety performance across all operational areas.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Develop and implement effective change management strategies aimed at improving safety culture and reducing incidents.
• Conduct Regular Safety Audits and Inspections: Identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Coordinate with External Stakeholders: Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in health and safety by collaborating with regulatory agencies and industry organizations.
• Develop and Deliver Safety Training Programs: Create comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels, emphasizing the importance of risk awareness and mitigation strategies.
• Serve as a Trusted Advisor to Senior Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on health and safety matters.
• Function as a Leader on the Risk Management Team: Collaborate with partners in Risk, DOT Compliance, Environmental, and Security related roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree: Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
• Progressive Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in health and safety leadership roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting; experience in the laundry or textile industry is appreciated but not a prerequisite.
• Geographic Experience: Experience in both the United States and Canada is preferred, but not necessary.
• Electronic Safety Management Systems: Demonstrated expertise in electronic safety management systems.
• Safety Analytics: Strong understanding of safety analytics, including the ability to analyze data, design dashboarding efforts, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve safety performance.
• Change Management: Proven track record of leading change management initiatives and driving cultural transformation in safety practices.
• Team Leadership and Mentoring: Strong team leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve safety excellence.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
