[Remote] Business Development Partner
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ProActivate is a company that provides outsourced bookkeeping, accounting, and back-office support for small and midsize businesses. They are seeking a Business Development Partner who is responsible for developing and nurturing a referral ecosystem to drive new business revenue. The role involves lead generation, increasing brand awareness, managing the sales cycle, and collaborating with client services.
Responsibilities
- Drive lead generation — Build, nurture, and expand referral partner relationships while supplementing with targeted cold outreach
- Increase brand awareness — Generate new business through networking, social media, online campaigns, and creative prospecting
- Manage full sales cycle — Partner with the Managing Director to identify leads, run discovery calls, create proposals, and close new business
- Conduct sales presentations — Present to prospects both virtually and in person as needed
- Collaborate with client services — Ensure a smooth handoff from sales to implementation for new clients
- Expand referral partnerships — Strengthen existing referral relationships and independently source new partners through outreach, associations, LinkedIn, and events
- Operate as a hunter — Maintain a 100% focus on net‑new business by continuously building pipeline and opening new doors
Skills
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic hunter who thrives on networking and relationship-building
- Experience in developing and nurturing a referral ecosystem of COIs including CPAs, fractional CFOs, bankers, HR consultants, payroll professionals, and benefits brokers
- Ability to drive lead generation through building, nurturing, and expanding referral partner relationships
- Experience in increasing brand awareness through networking, social media, online campaigns, and creative prospecting
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle including identifying leads, running discovery calls, creating proposals, and closing new business
- Experience in conducting sales presentations both virtually and in person
- Ability to collaborate with client services to ensure a smooth handoff from sales to implementation for new clients
- Experience in expanding referral partnerships and independently sourcing new partners through outreach, associations, LinkedIn, and events
- Ability to maintain a 100% focus on net-new business by continuously building pipeline and opening new doors
- Must live in the Raleigh/Durham area to attend local events, networking meetings, and partner visits
