[Remote] Founding Data Analyst

SyntheticFi is a YC-backed company experiencing extraordinary growth, providing a product that helps financial advisors retain assets under management and win new clients. They are seeking a Founding Data Analyst to build the data foundation for their hyper-growth, focusing on data wrangling, building data pipelines, and optimizing operational workflows.
Responsibilities
- Help build and improve the reporting, CRM/HubSpot, and analytics infrastructure that supports day-to-day decision-making across the business
- Partner directly with the founders to monitor operational processes, create and track SLAs across onboarding, support, and billing to keep a fast-scaling business clean
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline manual processes, improve data quality, and support scalable workflows across billing, revenue operations, onboarding, and customer support
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or above in a highly analytical field; examples include computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, and other quantitative fields with exposure to programming
- 1–3 years of professional experience in data, analytics, or systems roles
- Strong SQL proficiency and experience with programming languages commonly used for data work, such as Python, R, Java, Scala, or similar
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfort working with financial data
- Strong problem-solving ability, exceptional attention to detail, and a willingness to dig into messy, real-world operational data
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Familiarity with modern data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, or Azure is a major plus, with the expectation that candidates can ramp quickly on new tools and systems
- Experience with ETL / ELT platforms and cloud data architectures
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
- Strong debugging, triage, and problem-solving skills across complex environments
- Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, Retool, etc.) and CRMs (HubSpot preferred)
- Experience in fintech, startups, or high-growth environments
