Junior Risk Analyst

We’re looking for a proactive, self-motivated, and highly professional Junior Risk Analyst to join our quickly growing team and make a big impact. As a Junior Risk Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities will be to gather security controls evidence for our clients and from third-parties on their behalf. This is an entry-level position suitable for an ambitious, hardworking, recent college graduate or college graduate with up to 1 to 2 years of experience, preferably in information risk management.
- What you’ll do:
- Respond to expanding requests from customers for insights into Muck Rack’s security program
- Perform information risk surveys of our third-party vendors, which would include reading security compliance reports, identifying gaps and summarizing a recommendation
- Collaborate with legal, business and IT to assess privacy impact assessments, and security reviews
- Explain and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and make initial assessments in areas where escalation is necessary
- Demonstrate basic project management and documentation skills to track and improve processes
- Manage multiple parallel deadlines to deliver superior service to our clients and stakeholders
- How success will be measured in this role:
- Accurate evaluation of security assessments, maintaining consistent responses that meet security & compliance standards
- Smooth evidence collection experience for both clients and vendors
- If the details below describe you, you could be a great fit for this role:
- 1 to 2 years of experience, preferably in information risk, or a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Security, Business Administration, or Risk Management
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with both technical engineers, sales and legal counterparts
- Have a basic understanding of software application structure and software development lifecycles
- Ability to multitask and complete assignments within deadlines that may have short lead times
- Willingness to obtain Industry certifications (e.g. CTPRP, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CIPP, CISA)
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Comfortable with Information Security terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary The starting salary for this role is between $79,000-$95,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.
