We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven Remote Revenue Accounting & Data Analytics Specialist to join our growing Bookkeeping and Data organization. This position offers an exceptional chance to apply your expertise in US GAAP, revenue systems, and core data capabilities while working on cross-functional initiatives that shape the financial backbone of arenaflex.

Position Overview

In this role, you will serve as a key connector between accounting, data engineering, and product teams, acting as the go-to expert for revenue-related data initiatives. Your work will span a unique blend of responsibilities that combine the precision of technical accounting with the curiosity of data analytics. You will spend your days analyzing complex datasets using SQL and Python, performing deep-dive revenue analyses, designing intricate process flows, and contributing to high-impact accounting research and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and various business owners on policies, processes, and programs. Help drive key system initiatives and continuous improvements that support the broader financial strategy of arenaflex.
• Accounting Data Requirements Design: Develop and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes managed by arenaflex.
• Operational Excellence: Lead operational improvement initiatives to streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule, driving measurable efficiency gains for the organization.
• Data Quality Monitoring: Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared through the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases, including requirements design, ad hoc analyses, and new product launches.
• Process Improvement: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve the daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analytics with the support of the analytics team.
• New Product Review: Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance Review meetings and assess their impact on existing accounting requirements, identifying the need for new requirements within the Revenue Subledger.
• Journal Entry Automation: Collaborate cross-functionally on journal entry flows for new and existing products, driving automation through the Revenue Subledger.
• Monthly Close Responsibilities: Perform monthly revenue accounting close activities, including but not limited to GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, journal entry review, and close package preparation.
• Ad Hoc Projects: Execute ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned, contributing your analytical mindset to a wide variety of business questions.

Essential Qualifications

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence roles.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with specific expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required.
• Knowledge of IFRS considered a strong plus.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills with the ability to work with large volumes of transactional data.
• Working knowledge of Python highly preferred.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments and evolving business needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both in-person and remotely.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and revenue subledger architecture.
• Prior experience supporting product launches from a financial accounting perspective.
• Exposure to automation tools and workflow optimization within finance functions.
• A CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting certification is a plus, though not required.
