Position Overview

This full‑time, benefits‑eligible role operates Monday through Friday, 7:45 am – 4:45 pm. You will work under general supervision, performing a variety of clerical duties while resolving customer inquiries and complaints. The role includes a mandatory pre‑employment examination; successful candidates will receive further instructions via email and will be invited to interview based on exam performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries regarding utility bills, service requests, and policy interpretations.
  • Process utility payments through cash registers, ensuring accurate cash handling and daily reconciliation of cash boxes.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing correspondence, including letters of credit and service notices.
  • Maintain and update active utility accounts, landlord and rental property files, and other critical records with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Enter new customer applications into the utility billing system, verifying completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Balance cash registers at the end of each shift, generate discrepancy reports, and resolve any variances in accordance with arenaflex policies.
  • Assist the public in interpreting office policies, providing clear explanations and guidance on procedural matters.
  • Collaborate with fellow arenaflex staff to ensure seamless service delivery and uphold the organization’s reputation for reliability.
  • Perform additional clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and report generation as needed to support departmental objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Business English and arithmetic: Ability to read, write, and speak professional English; perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Modern office practices: Familiarity with standard office equipment (printers, scanners, cash registers) and software (Microsoft Office Suite, utility billing platforms).

Qualifications

Essential Functions & Physical Demands

The role is primarily stationary (approximately 50% of the time) within an office environment. You will also move around the office to access filing cabinets, operate office machinery, and engage with customers in person or via telephone. The position requires frequent data entry, cash handling, and verbal communication with citizens and utility customers.
