Part-Time Payroll Specialist Location: Remote... US Citizenship Required: Yes Clearance: None required Travel: Limited less than 10% of the time. Overview: Strategic Technologies Analytics Group (STAG) is seeking a part-time payroll specialist. The payroll specialist is responsible for preparing employee salary statements and processing paychecks. They will be required to maintain payroll files and create reports. The payroll specialist will ensure all payroll procedures are in line with governmental laws and policies. In this role, you will conduct the following duties: • Oversee employee paychecks • Calculate net salaries considering deductions and withholdings • Update general ledger and payroll files • Monitor paid and unpaid leaves • Process overtime earnings, holiday deductions, and GAP pay • Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked holidays, late payments, etc.) • Answer employee questions concerning payroll • Participate in payroll audits • Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes • Manages 401k contributions and processes contribution changes • Processes payroll reimbursements (e.g. phone/internet, healthcare, travel, etc.) • Files tax forms with federal, multiple state, and local government agencies. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Payroll experience • Able to manage tax requirements in multiple states • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. • Bachelor’s degree • At least three years of related experience is required. • Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skill set with an acute attention to detail, requiring minimal supervision. • Comfortable working in a remote setting Preferred Qualifications: • Self-motivated, creative, and willing to work as a member of a team • Experience with Paycor About Strategic Technologies Analytics Group (STAG): STAG is a premier solutions provider to the National Security and Defense communities around the world.
