Admissions Interviewer (Part-Time, Remote)

Overview:

Macalester College is seeking multiple Part-Time Remote Admissions Interviewers to support our full-time staff in the interview process for our upcoming application rounds. This position is an excellent opportunity to work remotely and make a meaningful impact on the college admissions process.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts an evaluative interview, eliciting information about the... student's high school curriculum, performance record, extracurricular involvements, and potential to contribute to the Macalester community.

• Answers student questions about the College and its programs.
• Synthesizes, writes, and edits a short evaluative summary of the strengths and notable elements of each interview conversation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required • Bachelor's degree preferred • Direct experience as a student or staff member at a highly selective liberal arts college preferred • Direct experience working in college access, college admissions, and/or college counseling is preferred • Must have an appreciation for the value of a liberal arts education • Possess knowledge of the overall landscape of selective higher education • Are able to work respectfully with sensitive and confidential information • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity • *Benefits:** • Hourly rate of $20/hour • Guaranteed eight weeks of work in 2024 and four weeks of work in 2025 • Flexible remote work schedule with the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week • Opportunity to work with a highly selective liberal arts college committed to social justice and diversity Apply Job!
