Boundless Freedom Project is seeking a passionate and motivated REMOTE Part-Time Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong communications background, a deep commitment to our cause, and a passion for telling compelling stories that advance our mission. This role will focus on brand management, social media strategy, and content creation to engage our community and elevate our organization’s voice. About Boundless Freedom Project: We are dedicated to empowering individuals impacted by the criminal justice system through education, advocacy, and support. Our programs aim to break cycles of incarceration, create opportunities for success, and promote social justice. Key Responsibilities: • Brand Management: • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging that aligns with Boundless Freedom Project’s mission and values. • Develop and maintain branding guidelines to ensure cohesive communication across all platforms. • Monitor and enhance the organization’s brand presence, identifying new opportunities for brand storytelling. • Social Media Management: • Create, curate, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). • Manage daily social media activities, including responding to messages and engaging with followers. • Track social media metrics and analytics, and provide regular performance reports to optimize engagement strategies. • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to ensure the organization stays relevant and active. • Content Creation: • Write and edit content for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and website updates. • Assist in creating visuals, graphics, and videos to support communication efforts. • Collaborate with the team to develop stories that highlight program successes, participant experiences, and organizational impact. • Public Relations: • Assist with outreach to media outlets, manage press relationships, and support efforts to increase visibility in the community and beyond. • Draft press releases and pitch stories to promote the work of Boundless Freedom Project. • Email Marketing & Communications: • Manage email marketing campaigns and communications, ensuring consistent messaging and calls to action. • Track and analyze email performance, ensuring optimization for higher engagement rates. • Collaborative Support: • Work closely with other departments to support communications initiatives that align with programmatic goals and fundraising efforts. • Assist in event promotion and communication campaigns to increase participation and support. Qualifications: • Bachelor's or AA degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, brand management, or social media management. • Passion for social justice and the mission of Boundless Freedom Project. • Proven ability to manage multiple social media platforms and content creation tools. • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience crafting messages that resonate with diverse audiences. • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines. • Graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite are a plus. • Experience using social media analytics and reporting tools to track performance. Job Type: • Part-Time • Location: Remote (with potential for occasional in-person events, depending on your location) Schedule: • Flexible, with an expected commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week.
