About the position Public Partnerships LLC is seeking a QA Engineer to join our team in Juneau, AK. As the nation's largest and most experienced Financial Management Service provider, we support individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and aging adults to remain in their homes and communities while self-directing their long-term home care. In this role, you will be responsible for validating requirements, designs, and new software components, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will track the status of projects and communicate progress effectively to project management, while also reporting and tracking defects using our defect management system. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed test cases and performing manual testing at various phases of the software development lifecycle. You will conduct system-level integration and regression testing to ensure product readiness, advocating for quality-centered engineering best practices throughout the process. Additionally, you will investigate and reproduce customer-reported issues to help determine root causes, contributing to special quality-related initiatives aimed at improving processes and developing test frameworks or techniques as needed. This position requires a methodical and inquisitive mindset for testing, as well as strong communication and influencing skills. You will work collaboratively within an agile delivery team, supporting planning and estimating tasks. A passion for learning the latest testing technologies, tools, and frameworks is essential, as is experience with ticketing systems such as ADO (Microsoft Azure DevOps) or Jira. You will also need to demonstrate a solid understanding of the software product development lifecycle and possess debugging skills, including knowledge of SQL for analysis and debugging. This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of formal quality assurance experience and a BS degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Requirements • Experience creating detailed test cases and following testing best practices. , • Methodical & inquisitive mindset for testing beyond the obvious and uncovering evasive bugs. , • Experience with modern web technologies/frameworks. , • Strong communication and influencing skills, and professional business demeanor. , • Ability to work collaboratively, and even lead testing initiatives. , • Highly motivated, able to learn quickly, and accountable for committed results. , • Adept and passionate for learning the latest testing technologies, tools, and frameworks. , • Experience with ticketing systems such as ADO (Microsoft Azure DevOps) or Jira. , • Experience with load and performance testing. , • Strong Microsoft Office applications skills (preferably with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access). , • Experience creating and implementing test frameworks. , • Demonstrated understanding of the software product development life cycle. , • Debugging skills: knowledge of SQL for analysis and debugging. , • Iterative testing experience (Agile/Scrum experience a plus) UAT exposure with client meeting.
