Senior Mainframe Engineer (Credit Cards) (multiple positions)

About the position U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software features for the credit card rewards platform. This role involves optimizing mainframe components, performing various testing phases, and collaborating with partners to ensure successful implementation and deployment of code changes. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain software product features in the credit card rewards platform using mainframes (COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2) and DevOps tools (Gitlab, IDZ). , • Optimize components and changes for Mainframe MIPS using tools such as BMC for DB2 tuning. , • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing of code changes using REXX tools and Account reservation tools. , • Review and optimize code components and changes for Mainframe MIPS. , • Collaborate with partners and vendors on implementation plans and timelines. , • Deploy and validate code changes end-to-end in the production environment. , • Research and analyze different scenarios, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure product optimization. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. , • 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Developer or in a related occupation. , • 3 years of experience with Agile methodology (scrum). , • 3 years of experience reviewing and optimizing code changes completed by developers. , • 3 years of experience reviewing test scripts and providing feedback. , • 3 years of experience documenting project-related artifacts (design, testing results, code review log). , • Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, JSON, Agile, JIRA, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Jenkins, and Gitlab.
