Hospital Revenue Cycle Specialist-Insurance Follow-up (must reside in Texas)

Job Description
Candidate is responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve medical claim issues, secure appropriate, and timely reimbursement. Responsibilities Initiates insurance follow up on aged, unresolved claims to ensure maximum reimbursement Submits appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments, and denials Engages the coding follow-up team for any medical necessity or coding related appeals Sets follow-up activities based on status of the claim Communicates identified payer trends such as denials for specific procedure, diagnosis codes, or other identified issues Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must reside in Texas Two years relevant experience in medical collections Experience with Epic, Meditech, or Ace preferred An understanding of revenue cycle Demonstrate problem solving ability/analytical skills Organized and detail oriented Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge Typing speed: 45+ WPM US work authorization (required) Must be able to pass background check and drug screen as permitted by law Performance Expectations Maintain professional, courteous treatment of clients, co-workers, and consumers Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with management, subordinates, and clients to promote a positive company image Meet FMAs standards for attendance and promptness A strong sense of teamwork and cooperation with management and co-workers Schedule Part-time position Full- time position Flexible schedule; possible hours: 4-10 hour days (once production standards are met) Education High school or equivalent (preferred) Benefits 401k (with employer matching for part-time employees) Additional benefits for full-time employees Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Application Question(s): Do you live in Texas?
