Process Development Engineer, Senior Staff

We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer who is highly skilled and experienced with Nitinol materials transformation to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts. Responsibilities: • Work as part of Confluent’s multifunctional Nitinol Materials Team to develop and refine Confluent’s tubing, wire, and other related material forming capabilities. • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and other engineers to deliver materials specifications products that meet internal and external customer requirements. • Hands-on position with development for manufacturing as the primary focus. • Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, visual standards, and technical memorandums. • Coordinate with the Production team to provide training and manufacturing support. • Utilize six sigma and lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement of validated manufacturing processes. Essential Qualities: • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Communicate clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment. • Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues. • Capacity to work independently, with minimal supervision. Education and Experience: • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience. • In Depth understanding of material forming processes, like tube drawing, sheet rolling is a must • Fundamental understanding of the unique properties and behavior of Nitinol is needed • Possess strong mechanical aptitude, and creative/innovative thinking. • Interact with technicians and other engineers to develop and modify existing processes needed to create Nitinol material products (tubing, strip, sheet). • Capable of applying good manufacturing principles during developmental phase • Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be capable of communicating clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment. • Experience with nitinol processing and relevant equipment a plus Confluent Medical Technologies is dedicated to working collaboratively with our customers, taking their projects from rapid prototype into high volume production.
