JOB DESCRIPTION Educational Specialist Job Title: Educational Specialist Work Calendar: 9-Month Work Calendar Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Location: Remote Office Position Type: Full-Time Exempt Educational Specialist Job Definition: Under the general supervision of the Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Directors, this position performs a variety of tasks with the major responsibility being that of providing exceptional instructional-related services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program. Reports to: Program Directors of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Job Characteristics: Instructional-related services shall include communication, skill development, the expansion of knowledge, and the development of the ability to reason. The use of independent judgment and decision-making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents. Primary Functions: We have an opening for an Educational Specialist (Remote; Virtual) for the 2025-2026 school year. In this role, you will: • Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools • Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms • Complete daily and monthly reports • Answer and respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls on a daily basis • Maintain tracking/spreadsheet of student and family data • Communicate and meet with the Special Ed team as caseload requires • Attend and participate in all required company and program virtual meetings • Plan and teach weekly virtual classes • Travel to and manage field trips in a variety of locations • Give, receive, and incorporate feedback • Contribute to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program • Use a variety of computer software, including Google Suite for Education, and MS Excel These essential functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Education/Licensure/Certification: • Bachelor’s degree • Current State of Oregon Teaching License • Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment. Educational Specialists must have obtained the TSPC Elementary-Multiple Subjects or its equivalent license endorsement Experience: • One year of successful teaching experience within the subject area OR successful completion of an Oregon instructional internship program • Three years experience, preferred Other minimum qualifications: • Must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions • Operational knowledge of the Internet and related technologies • Must be able to pass a background check • Obtain First Aid and CPR certification • Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to hold this position. Salary and Benefits: • Educational Specialist's starting salary is $61,798.00. • Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Will pay 100% family premium for family Major Medical, Dental, and Vision. • Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. is not a PERS employer but does contribute a % of salary to the 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan.
