We’re looking for a

Creative Director, Design with a strong design background to lead our creative vision from concept to completion and set the standard for creative excellence at Ritual. In this role, you will oversee multiple visual disciplines, report to the VP of Creative, and collaborate closely with scientists, marketers, and cross-functional teams to bring our brand to life.

    • What You'll Do

  • Lead & Inspire Creative Excellence

  • Champion creativity through critical thinking and critique to drive outstanding work.
  • Lead concept development and create breakthrough, narrative-driven ideas across media and channels
  • Drive continual improvement in creative quality, thinking, and capabilities.
  • Ensure creative work is accessible, representative, and resonates with diverse communities
  • Work hands-on as needed to bring ideas to life.

    • Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead with empathy and equity, modeling Ritual’s values in leadership and collaboration.
  • Support the growth and development of Creative team members, mentoring and advocating for them.
  • Foster a culture of belonging, ensuring all voices are heard and valued.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recognition to encourage continuous growth.

    • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on shared goals and drive creative excellence.
  • Work closely with Project Management, Marketing, and Science teams to ensure cohesive storytelling.
  • Cultivate positive relationships across teams, creating a space for open dialogue and creative problem-solving.

    • Operational Excellence & Quality Control

  • Develop and implement creative policies and best practices that support equitable access and representation in design.
  • Ensure creative work is high-quality, accurate, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, including AI, to responsibly enhance creative processes.

    • What You Need

  • Experience

  • Proven Creative Director experience in advertising and design for consumer-facing brands, with a portfolio that showcases a diverse range of impactful work.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging, and inclusive creative solutions.
  • Experience leading and developing creative teams while fostering an inclusive, growth-minded environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and emerging creative technologies.
  • A deep understanding of branding, storytelling, and design systems across multiple channels.

    • Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range:$136,000 - $195,000
  • Your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range represents the entire compensation range for this position. Exact compensation will depend on a number of factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, level, years of experience, technical expertise, and other qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. This role is also eligible for equity + generous benefits + 401k + unlimited PTO etc - see our list of perks/ benefits below.
