Sr Sales Development Representative - Personal Lines (Los Angeles Territory)

Overview

Position Summary:The primary job function is to maintain and build the relationship between the Company and the agency force in an assigned outside territory. Serves as the primary liaison to the agency force, which includes increasing sales, profitability management, training agents on Company systems, products and processes, as well as prospecting and appointing new agency partners within their territory. This position will be supporting our Los Angeles territory.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: • Plans for agency visits by setting up weekly schedules, reviewing agency production and profitability levels, and establishing agendas • Provides feedback and recommendations to management concerning market conditions, service levels and effectiveness of Company programs • Responds to telephone and written correspondence, comments, questions and concerns from agents and/or customers • Consistently assists management with special assignments outside of established responsibilities • Participates in advanced studies through seminars/courses to contribute and apply expanded knowledge • Assist with interviews and/or train newly hired employees as needed • Establishes path to achieve semi-annual/annual production goals while managing profitability • Reviews and monitors agent production reports, loss ratios, and holds performance discussions to improve and drive new business growth and monitor overall performance in managing agents in their assigned territory • Promotes products and programs to ensure understanding in Company philosophy, procedures, and practices • Gathers competitor intel • Occasional attendance at Regional and State meetings, group conventions and/or agent related tradeshows • Interview and recruit agents for agency appointments. Analyzes and considers current business operations in order to develop a recommendation. • Shows initiative and the ability to resolve a variety of complex issues with minimal supervision from their leader • Territorial responsibilities may require occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

Education:• Bachelor’s Degree required • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (as determined by Company policy) requiredExperience:• At least 5 years of experience in marketing, especially in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry; • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience Perks and Benefits Why choose a career at Mercury?
