Job Title: Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of embedded solutions. You will work collaboratively within an Agile firmware development team, driving quality. Your expertise in firmware and embedded software development, along with your ability to translate business requirements into data models, will be essential in ensuring the success of our projects. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop embedded solutions from end to end. • Collaborate with the Agile firmware development team using scrum processes. • Drive firmware quality by utilizing early defect discovery and removal techniques. • Analyze acceptance criteria and provide estimates of effort. Required Skills and Experience: • 3+ years of experience in firmware and embedded software development. • Proven proficiency in translating business requirements into data models. • C++ development experience. • Embedded Linux experience, with a strong emphasis on Yocto (MUST HAVE). Preferred Skills: • UI experience with React.js and Node.js frameworks is a BIG PLUS. • Euro team handles most UI work, but experience in this area is a bonus. Bonus Skills: • Experience with TCP/IP and networking fundamentals. • Experience with Embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto. • Ability to produce technical design documentation for assigned features and user stories. • Experience with Agile Development using Jira and the Atlassian Suite. • Experience with basic scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, and Python. Additional Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline is strongly preferred, but applicable experience without a degree will be considered. • 5+ years of professional experience is strongly preferred (consideration given to candidates with 2-3 years if they meet requirements and demonstrate a go-getter attitude and quick learning ability). • Experience working with embedded Linux. • Prior experience with C++. • Ability to read schematics and work comfortably with hardware, debugging tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. • Combination of Hardware Engineering (HWE) and Software Engineering (SWE) skills. • Ability to speak to industrial instrumentation architecture, not just overall computer architecture. • Understanding of protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, MODBUS, USB, Ethernet. • Ability to code low-level hardware interfaces and demonstrate competency in C++ Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr. • Medical, dental & vision • Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital • 401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available • Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) • Short and long-term disability • Health Spending Account (HSA) • Transportation benefits • Employee Assistance Program • Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Loveland,CO.
