Heavy Construction Equipment Technician

Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is seeking to hire full-time Heavy Construction Equipment Technician for the Erie Branch. This position will work both inside the building on equipment and in the field. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible, and has proven work history repairing and maintaining heavy equipment. A successful candidate will: ? Diagnose, repair, and overhaul mechanical and pneumatic equipment such as backhoes, grader, wheel loaders, skid steers, excavators, milling machines, and pavers used in the construction industry. ? Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufactures' specifications. ? Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating, on equipment and vehicles. ? Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. ? Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace sub-assemblies such as transmission and crawler heads using hand tools, jacks, and cranes. Skills: ? 2-3 years Heavy Equipment Technician experience, required ? Ability to use appropriate power and hand-held tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, replace and test equipment ? Working knowledge of electrical systems ? Ability to work independently with minimum direction ? Ability to read and comprehend diagnostic service information ? Ability to gather date, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork ?
