Job title: Director of Emergency Services in Waukegan, IL at AHS Vista LLC Company: AHS Vista LLC Job description: Job Summary:Vista Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of the Emergency Department to lead and oversee all clinical and administrative operations within our high-volume emergency department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, optimizing department performance, and fostering a culture of teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the emergency department.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care, safety, and workflow efficiency.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to improve patient outcomes and departmental effectiveness.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency.Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and reduce wait times.Ensure adherence to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.Mentor and support emergency department staff, fostering professional growth and development.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Illinois required; Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or related certification preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of emergency nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
