The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator collects of clinical data, analysis of that data and design of appropriate response. Directly reports to the Director of pharmacy and the pharmacist in charge of Pyxis operations.Responsible for assuring that all the activities for the provision of pharmaceutical care at their campus are carried out in full accordance with all Federal and State laws, rules and regulations. The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator assists the Director of Pharmacy in the planning, supervision, education, evaluation and control of all activities of the Pharmacy department in support of the goals and objectives of the facility. The Clinical Pharmacist assists the Directory of Pharmacy in the input of orders, establishing annual goals and objectives for patient safety and medication management, provide education or support of medical staff, mentoring and coaching staff, conserving material resources, developing positive relationships with interdepartmental staff, patients, physicians and families. The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator will perform annual evaluations of supervised clinical pharmacists in accordance with the mission, philosophy and core values of Dignity Health. Unit based pharmacists in the assigned areas are supervised by the coordinator. The coordinator serves as pharmacy lead in both medication safety and pharmacy therapeutics committees. The coordinator is an active participant in the quarterly business review to integrate drug procurement and drug utilization. The coordinator will "take call" as necessary to address emergent clinical matters.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- A minimum of five years as a hospital pharmacist, with at least two years of experience in either leadership or supervisory capacity.
- CA Registered Pharmacist License
- Possesses specialized clinical knowledge and has the ability to provide in-service education to nurses, medical staff and other pharmacists.
- Good working knowledge of a unit dose system, an IV admixture program as well as TPN and nutrition issues.
- The coordinator must possess good management abilities including proficiency in office skills and verbal skills.
