About the position
The Single Family Fraud Investigations Senior role at Freddie Mac involves conducting mortgage fraud investigations to manage Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks effectively. This position is integral to the Single-Family Acquisitions Team, which oversees compliance and operational risk within the division. The role requires a combination of analytical skills, compliance knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform fraud tip research to identify suspicious activity. ,
- Conduct end-to-end fraud investigations, including mortgage loan file reviews and interviews. ,
- Document findings and conclusions clearly and concisely. ,
- Maintain cycle times for completing investigations. ,
- Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) in accordance with FinCEN requirements. ,
- Design fraud analytics using mortgage loan data to identify patterns and trends. ,
- Analyze mortgage loan portfolio and emerging trends for possible fraud scenarios. ,
- Execute internal controls related to fraud investigations. ,
- Provide complete and accurate investigation data for fraud reporting.
Requirements
- AML/Fraud related certification preferred. ,
- Typically has 5+ years' experience in conducting fraud investigations; mortgage fraud experience highly preferred. ,
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in FinCEN reporting requirements. ,
- Experience with industry practices for preventive fraud mitigation and technological solutions. ,
- Strong analytical skills for research and analysis beyond on-field investigations. ,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in written communication. ,
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and propose solutions.
