Atlassian is hiring a Business Analyst to join our People Insights team, a cross-disciplinary group of analysts, data scientists, behavioral scientists, researchers and business partners, who use data and research to inform strategic and operational issues facing our leaders, teams, and people.
In this role, you'll get to:
- Collaborate with behavioral scientists, business partners, Data Engineering and others to understand the people insights needed to drive decision making at Atlassian, and design products and insights in a way that motivates and inspires action
- Conduct analyses and support ad hoc initiatives to help uncover data-driven people insights and enable teams to take action or increase visibility of insights
- Help scale compelling insights from people data by building automated internal processes and/or products that provide a greater speed to insight and aim to enable our team and partners with the right data and right access and the right time.
- Learn from and collaborate with other Business Analysts and Data Scientists, as well as mentor others on the team
- Experience working with people data (e.g., survey data, HR data, psychological study data, human behavior data) in an applied setting
- Proven ability to translate data into usable data products or solutions; dashboards, insight boards, visualizations, that resonate with a non-technical audience
- Understanding of and evaluation of process and procedures to ensure accurate translations into data products
- Understanding of Data Architecture best practices in the people domain
- Knowledge of Python or R
- Proficiency with Visualization best practices and standards in an industry standard tool or package such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Shiny, Dash
- Proficiency in reading and writing SQL queries
- Knowledge of Git is a plus
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of experimental methods and outcome evaluation, A/B testing, etc.
- Working knowledge of advanced statistical methods (e.g., could include: regression, cluster analysis, HLM, social network analysis, text analysis, longitudinal methods, etc.)
- Cloud Data Platform Experience (Databricks preferred)
