This is a part-time position, approximately 5-20 hours per week. Fully remote MUST hold active California Bar License Experience: 4+ years. The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing and communication skills, along with the ability to utilize Westlaw for legal research and analysis. Experience or understanding of drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery is essential, as is a robust comprehension of civil court procedures and deadlines. Job Responsibilities • Advise clients on compliance with data protection and cybersecurity regulations (GDPR, CCPA, State AG Guidance, FIPPs, etc.). • Draft terms of service, contracts, and policies related to clients’ data privacy and security. • Handle government investigations and relevant litigation. • Manage compliance gap analysis. • Conduct due diligence for client transactions. • Stay up-to-date on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity laws and regulations. Qualifications • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California. • 4+ years of experience in terms of service and data privacy & security law, including regulations and guidelines, compliance, government investigations, and litigation. • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. • Strong academic record from an accredited law school. • Technological competency and an understanding of AI utilization in workflows. • High degree of independence and self-accountability in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities and meticulous adherence to deadlines. • CIPP/US certification a plus.
