What you’ll do

As a vital member of the Tech Platform Team, you will be part of a specialized force that meticulously bridges the gap between business exigencies and architectural finesse. You will engage in:

  • An advanced application infrastructure meticulously crafted to alleviate common challenges across the entire organization, significantly lowering maintenance costs for developers and streamlining innovation;

  • Masterfully addressing intricate, organization-wide challenges through the strategic deployment of cutting-edge technologies such as reactive programming, temporal, workflow, distributed systems, and advanced gateway solutions;

  • Comprehensive, organization-wide evaluations of strategic solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Our resilient, high-throughput, low-latency Notification Platform leverages Event-Driven Architecture to ensure scalable, reliable message delivery with full traceability for customers worldwide. to people or machines in a unified stack (SMS, Email, Push & webhook).

  • You will collaborate with various systems and teams to evolve our platform capabilities through fast pace business transformation & providing data insights.

  • Engage with engineering teams across Airwallex's global offices, fostering effective communication.

  • Design, develop & maintain high volume with automated recovery pipeline by bringing cutting edge technology to overcome multi-data center complexity & making it transparent to adopters.

  • Troubleshoot production issues across different levels of the stack.

  • Evolve the platform to better governance and provide data driven insights to business teams.

  • You’ll join a highly efficient team that operates Scheduled workflow, Search & Gateway

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
  • More than 5 years of back-end development experience; Have experience in developing large-scale system.

  • Bachelor degree or above in computer science or engineering related majors. 

  • Proficient in coding and scripting languages (Java(Kotlin) /C++ /Python, etc.) with strong software design and system design abilities.

  • At least 2 years of experience building distributed search systems using middleware (like Kafka, PostgreSQL or Elastic Search) and have hands on experience on managing, maintaining and tuning event pipeline

  • Familiar with JVM, Java multi-threading, high concurrency, IO / NIO, network communication, etc.

Preferred qualifications:
  • You are interested in beyond backend technologies, including design systems, search & AI technologies, gateway technologies and data analytics.

  • You focus on automating tasks to concentrate on high-impact activities and are proactive in reducing technical debt.

  • Experience with distributed databases or storage system like PostgreSQL /Redis /NoSQL.

  • Proficient in messaging patterns and resilience.

  • Hands-on knowledge with full implementation of Kafka.
