We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr. Global Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and processing accurate and timely payrolls across multiple APAC jurisdictions. This role involves ensuring compliance with local tax laws and labor regulations, collaborating with third-party payroll vendors, and supporting internal stakeholders with payroll-related inquiries.

About the Role

  • Payroll Processing & Management
  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Work closely with international payroll vendors to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies.
  • Validate data for new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits, bonuses, and other variable pay components.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure adherence to country-specific tax regulations, labor laws, and data privacy standards.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, including statutory filings and tax documentation (e.g., PAYE, NI, income tax, social contributions).
  • Assist in audits and provide supporting payroll documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with Instructure’s internal tax team and external service providers based in the Philippines to ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax documents, including:
  • Monthly Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) returns
  • Quarterly Value-Added Tax (VAT) returns
  • Quarterly Income Tax returns
  • Coordinate and review vendor invoices to ensure alignment with local tax compliance requirements and proper documentation for tax filings.
  • Data Management & Systems
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with Finance and HR departments.
  • Assist with payroll system upgrades and implementations, ensuring accurate data migration and testing.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the point of contact between the company and international payroll providers.
  • Liaise with internal teams (HR, Finance, Legal, etc.) to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
  • Support employee inquiries regarding payslips, taxes, deductions, and payroll-related issues.
  • About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in payroll, with at least 2 years in a global or multi-country payroll environment.
  • Experience working with global payroll platforms and HRIS (e.g., Workday, Papaya Global, or similar).
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of global payroll principles, practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with employment and tax regulations in key markets (e.g., APAC, EMEA, LATAM, US, CAN).
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team across time zones.
