Sr. Sales Manager - IT Networking MSPs

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Networking Account Manager focused on Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Customers increasingly require more from their IT Networking Partners than just design and implementation services associated with Professional Services VARs. More and more partners need the added security and peace of mind that comes with selecting a VAR who can support them throughout the lifecycle of their networking investment with proactive and reactive support services.  

This role requires the candidate to possess a comprehensive understanding of MSP offerings, terminologies, business models and go-to-market strategies, solution selling with integrated wireless and wired networking technologies, and the ability to grow strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional who understands how to build key partner relationships, can guide and advise partners on how to mature their Professional and Managed Service offerings and improve their go-to-market strategies, can identify customer needs, and can recommend solutions that meet customer and partner objectives. This is a remote-based position and will require up to 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit capable, mature MSP VARs who are willing to build strong, collaborative partnerships within our new Partner Program.

  • Maximize existing, high potential partners and work to build a proactive, collaborative, stronger partnerships by investing time and resources into their business.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to partners and end customers by understanding their technology needs and recommending appropriate solutions.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of NETGEAR’s IT products and services, including networking, cloud solutions, hardware, software, and managed services.

  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to expand NETGEAR’s presence.

  • Provide feedback to product development and marketing teams on customer needs and emerging trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or related field.

  • Proven track record selling IT SaaS solutions to MSPs.

  • A comprehensive understanding of what it takes to build, grow and maintain a successful MSP practice within the IT Networking space to include:

    • A foundational understanding of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.

    • A knowledge of how to recommend defining and carrying out SLAs based upon incident severity.

    • Familiarity with software tools required for a successful MSP, to include proactive monitoring and alerting solutions, back-end ticketing, and Knowledge Base.

    • An understanding of the importance of monthly and quarterly reporting/business reviews between MSP and Customer.

  • Proven business acumen required to advise NETGEAR Sales and Channel leadership on how to optimize Partner Program benefits in order to maximize MSP mindshare and success.

  • Quantifiable success in building relationships with key partners to achieve consistently higher revenue targets.

  • Knowledge of IT solutions such as networking, cloud computing, hardware, and software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven sales success, possessing strong negotiation tactics and closing abilities. Evidence of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A self-starting, ambitious personality that takes pride in the success of their business.

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce.

  • Up to 50% travel.
