Engineering Lead (AI and Agent Development)

What you’ll do: As a member of our Software Engineering team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge generative AI models and agents. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and end-users to build innovative solutions that leverage the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. You'll have the opportunity to work with modern technology paradigms on Google Cloud, including large language models (LLMs), deep learning frameworks, and distributed systems. More specifically, you’ll:

• Leverage, train, and fine-tune scalable AI models for a variety of applications.
• Build, test, and maintain autonomous agents capable of complex reasoning and actioning for different tasks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of AI.
• Collaborate on the development of infrastructure needed to support and scale our AI initiatives.
• Identify new opportunities to apply generative AI and agent-based systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Work directly with Ethic's engineering, product, and business teams throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing AI-powered solutions, with a focus on generative models and/or agent-based systems.
• Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage - is preferred.
• Strong understanding of machine learning principles.
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Knowledge of programming with Java
• Knowledge of RDBMS. NoSQL experience a plus
• Strong understanding of functional programming paradigms
• Familiarity with unit testing tools
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Passionate about Software and technology. Interest in Asset Management a plus
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits. The base salary for this role will range from $175,000-$195,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes;
