We're seeking talented and experienced professionals to join our Control Management team at American Express National Bank (AENB) as Managers and Senior Managers. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive success and make a significant impact in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our Control Management function, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.

About the Role

The Corporate Function Control Management Team within AENB is responsible for providing control management oversight to several corporate groups, including Corporate Affairs & Communications, Colleague Experience Group, General Counsel's Organization, Global Risk & Compliance, Enterprise Strategy, and American Express National Bank Headquarters. We are looking for experienced professionals to join our teams, including:

  • Control Management Governance & Reporting Team
  • Control Management Risk ID, Assessment & Testing Team
  • Control Management Issues, Events & Remediation Team
  • Control Management Process Risk Reduction Team

Responsibilities

As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving the development and implementation of control management strategies and frameworks
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks
  • Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and risk reduction initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and regulatory agencies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in operational risk management (Manager) or 4+ years of experience (Senior Manager)
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management lifecycle activities
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in process governance and regulatory frameworks
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications
  • Experience in translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines
  • Knowledge of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite
  • Experience in financial services industry ORMCM
