Job Title: Innovative Audio Systems Designer - Disney Live Entertainment

Unlock Your Creative Potential as an Audio Systems Designer with Disney Live Entertainment! We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Audio Systems Designer to join our team in creating magical and engaging entertainment experiences for Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations worldwide. As an Audio Systems Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing all aspects related to the creation of new live show audio designs, as well as remounts of existing seasonal shows and creative sustainment of current shows for Disney Cruise Line Entertainment.

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of technical experts, designers, and performers to bring imaginative worlds to life through technical expertise, performance perfection, and unparalleled spectacle. You will report to the Manager - Audio Systems Design and will be responsible for:

  • Developing and driving audio designs for live shows and facility infrastructure as assigned
  • Providing audio support for Disney Cruise Lines Toronto rehearsal facility as needed
  • Staying current with audio technology research and development efforts within the industry
  • Partnering with consultant audio designers and vendors to ensure Disney quality, compatibility, training, and accurate documentation of all audio services delivered
  • Functioning as a resource to maintain the accurate training of shipboard technicians
  • Conducting ongoing "Entertainment Show Quality" evaluations of existing offerings and providing support to maintain their original show intent
  • Maintaining up-to-date show documentation and partnering with shipboard Manager of Entertainment Technical and shipboard entertainment technical teams

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience operating live shows in the Entertainment Industry
  • Knowledge of all aspects of audio design, styles, technology, and facility systems
  • Experience supporting the creative process by collaborating with other designers, directors, writers, and producers
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Theatrical Design or Electronics with a focus on live sound reinforcement

Preferred qualifications include experience with live show development with The Walt Disney Company, facility design, engineering, and construction, as well as proficiency in current release of AutoCAD, Q-Sys Designer, SMAART, and speaker prediction software.
