The VHC is a renowned academic medical center, providing state-of-the-art specialty healthcare to over 22,000 patients annually. Our Neurology Service is a busy referral practice, staffed by board-certified specialists who utilize a team approach to deliver comprehensive care to dogs and cats with neurological disease.

As a Clinical Veterinary Instructor, you will:

  • Provide primary case management, overseeing residents, interns, students, and technicians to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement diagnostic and treatment plans, interpret diagnostic findings, and perform surgeries and post-operative care
  • Collaborate with other services within the College of Veterinary Medicine and referring veterinarians to provide expert consultation and support
  • Participate in formal rounds, journal clubs, and teaching rounds to contribute to the education and training of fourth-year veterinary students and house officers
  • Support and perform clinical research to advance clinically relevant knowledge and contribute to the mission of the VHC

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A DVM or equivalent degree and completion of an ACVIM or ECVN approved neurology/neurosurgery residency program
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Aptitude for and desire to teach and mentor senior veterinary students, house officers, and residents
  • Eligibility for a North Carolina Veterinary license or faculty certificate

Preferred qualifications include ACVIM or ECVN neurology board certification. We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and a comprehensive benefits package.

NC State University is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from qualified candidates, and encourage individuals with disabilities to contact us to discuss accommodations.

To apply, please submit your application, including a cover letter, CV/resume, and contact information for three or more references.
