Medical Scribe

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Scribe to join our team at Shea Clinic. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient flow and accurate medical records. Job Summary

The Medical Scribe will assist physicians during patient examinations, documenting medical histories, exam details, and coordinating necessary resources. This role requires a professional with at least two years of experience in medical scribing or transcription, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accompany physicians during patient examinations to document medical histories, exam details, and treatment plans
• Record patient information, including chief complaints, medical histories, and medications
• Transcribe patient orders, laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications under the direction of the physician
• Document procedures performed by the physician and complete patient charts with lab results and other evaluations
• Troubleshoot issues with orders and results, and communicate with the healthcare team to resolve problems
• Provide exceptional patient care and education, including pre- and post-op instructions and triaging patient messages
• Maintain confidentiality, security, and physical safety of all patients and patient information

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Scribe or in medical transcription
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate with multiple healthcare team members
• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
• Typing and general computer skills, with good grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Excellent English language skills and strong interpersonal communication skills
