Remote Environment Look Development Artist - $25/Hour

Join the Walt Disney Animation Studios team as a Remote Environment Look Development Artist, where you will play a key role in creating the stunning environments, sets, and props for our animated films. This is a part-time, remote opportunity with a competitive salary of $25/hour.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environment Look Development Artist to join our team. As an Environment Look Development Artist, you will be responsible for creating the materials, surfaces, and geometric models that define the look of our environments, sets, and props. You will work closely with asset managers and production designers to develop the look of our animated films.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with asset managers and production designers to develop the look of our environments, sets, and props
• Create materials, surfaces, procedural instancing, and natural vegetation
• Bring assets to a technically proficient and artistically pleasing final finish

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer graphics, fine arts, or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in Environment Look Development
• Ability to understand, interpret, and implement highly detailed art direction
• Strong technical skills to achieve a directorable aesthetic
• Ability to work closely with others in a collaborative environment
• Knowledge of materials and procedural modeling
• Proficiency in texturing and digital painting
• Experience with physically based rendering
• Maya experience
• Linux experience
• Understanding of the production pipeline
• Shader-writing and scripting experience a plus
• Character Look Development experience a plus
