Technical Writer (Contract)

Location: Remote / Flexible (with preference for candidates familiar with U.S. and international markets) Industry: Engineering Services | Manufacturing | Automation | Logistics | Energy Employment Type: Contract-Based (Payment upon completion per project) About the Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer (Contract-Based) with deep technical expertise in engineering, manufacturing, and industrial services. This position is ideal for a professional who can translate complex technical processes, product specifications, and service offerings into clear, professional documentation that strengthens our brand and supports our clients. This is a project-based contract role, where compensation will be tied to successful completion of assigned documentation projects. Salary is competitive and negotiable, depending on experience, technical depth, and project scope. The Technical Writer will work closely with our engineering, operations, and business development teams to create high-quality documentation that supports both internal use and external customer communication. Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Documentation

• Develop detailed and accurate product manuals, technical datasheets, whitepapers, process documents, SOPs, and service documentation.
• Create clear, step-by-step user guides for clients across industries including carbon steel, manufacturing engineering, automation, chemical processes, and logistics.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and format across all documentation.

2. Product & Service Knowledge

• Acquire an in-depth understanding of our engineering services, industrial solutions, and product lines.
• Work with engineers, product managers, and service specialists to extract technical knowledge and translate it into documentation.
• Produce accurate technical content that explains the functionality, applications, and benefits of products and services to both technical and non-technical audiences.

3. Content Development for Digital Platforms

• Create website content, case studies, knowledge base articles, brochures, and FAQs that highlight technical accuracy and customer value.
• Ensure that digital and print content reflects the company’s technical expertise and industry credibility.
• Support marketing and business development teams with content that bridges commercial and technical communication.

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure documentation complies with industry standards, ISO guidelines, safety requirements, and regulatory practices.
• Maintain proper version control and documentation updates.
• Conduct peer reviews with subject matter experts before publication.

5. Project & Contract Management

• Work under contract timelines to deliver documentation projects on schedule.
• Provide progress updates and draft reviews to project leads for approval.
• Ensure deliverables meet both technical accuracy and professional publishing standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in engineering, manufacturing, industrial automation, or heavy industries.
• Strong understanding of engineering services, carbon steel products, manufacturing processes, robotics, chemical engineering, and logistics solutions.
• Proven portfolio of technical documentation such as manuals, datasheets, technical reports, or case studies.
• Proficiency in documentation tools (MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, MS Office, or similar).
• Strong English writing/editing skills (Spanish or other language skills are a plus).
• Experience working under contract/project-based agreements.
