Submission Deadline: Rolling, priority consideration by September 9th, 2025 Contract Amount: Up to $15,000 Contract Period: September-December 2025 About Local Progress and Local Progress Impact Lab Local Progress and the Local Progress Impact Lab work collectively to advance a racial and economic justice agenda through all levels of government. Local Progress (LP) is a movement of more than 1,500 local elected officials advancing a racial and economic justice agenda through all levels of local government. The Local Progress Impact Lab (the Impact Lab) brings together local leaders, partners, and experts to build the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to advance racial and economic justice at the local level. Project Overview: Local Progress and the Impact Lab is seeking an experienced Survey Data Analyst to help analyze the first member survey we’ve completed since becoming an independent organization. We expect to have around 200-250 responses to a survey with 29 questions, the majority of which are not open ended. We may or may not have enough responses for determining statistical significance, nevertheless we are hoping to uncover trends from our membership about what we are doing well, what we could be doing better, and what their priorities are for the coming years. The results of this survey will inform our work in 2026 and beyond. In addition to providing analysis, we are looking for someone who can write up the results and share them in a digestible format for non-technical audiences, including stakeholders at the executive level. You may also be asked to work in tandem with our Membership Data Manager, who designed and owns the survey internally. Scope of Work The Member Survey Analysis Consultant will:

  • Analyze data from approximately 200-250 survey responses to identify key trends, correlations, and demographic breakdowns. This may include description statistics and content analysis.
  • Produce a cleaned and analyzed dataset for the organization to keep
  • Conduct cross-tabulations (if applicable, dependent upon the number of responses)
  • Prepare visualizations (charts, graphs)
  • Deliver a comprehensive written report with executive summary
  • Present findings to all staff in a 60-minute briefing
  • Submit a short reflection report at the end of the contract outlining recommendations for future member surveys.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience analyzing survey data (quantitative and/or qualitative)
  • Proven track record of working with public sector, nonprofit, or research-focused organizations
  • Data visualization skills using tools like Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or built-in libraries (e.g., ggplot2, matplotlib)
  • Secure data handling and storage protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, SAS, Python, or similar)
  • Ability to conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses (e.g., regression, factor analysis, significance testing)

The Ideal Person will Have:

  • Ability to prepare clear, jargon-free written reports for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience presenting findings to stakeholders or leadership teams
  • Experience coordinating with clients on revisions, clarifications, or iterations of the analysis

Budget and Timeline: We encourage applicants to submit their proposals by September 9, 2025. The anticipated start date for this contract is October 1, 2025 to last through December 15, 2025. We expect the consultant to contribute 8 to 10 hours per week to fulfilling our scope of work. The budget for this contract is up to $15,000.

  • Key Dates:
  • Consultant selected: Late September 2025
  • Consultant start: October 1, 2025
  • Analysis and write up: October - December 2025

How to Apply: Please submit your proposal through the JazzHR portal as a single PDF attachment, including:

  • Resume outlining relevant work experience
  • Sample reports or dashboards (sanitized or publicly available) demonstrating previous analysis work
  • Two References from previous clients or work with similar project scopes
  • Proposed fee structure and availability for the timeline outlined
