Summary

Apple is seeking a talented senior iOS developer to join a team expanding health-related capabilities across iOS, watchOS, and other Apple platforms. This role involves taking a lead in crafting advancements in Apple’s health software ecosystem, specifically working on the Health app and related features. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, designers, and medical experts to design user-delighting features and build a solid technical foundation for future development, requiring excellent engineering, collaboration, and leadership skills. Must Have

  • Implement new health-related features across Apple platforms.
  • Forge collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Evangelize values and contribute to design and architecture reviews.
  • Communicate ideas and best practices to other teams.
  • Accurately scope multi-month feature projects.
  • Design and build testable software, working closely with QA.
  • Diagnose, triage, fix, and prevent issues.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for developing phenomenal user experience, ideally on iOS.
  • Experience analyzing large features to understand and improve performance.
  • Advanced programming skills in Swift and/or Objective-C.

We’re looking for a talented senior iOS developer to join a team of highly skilled engineers who fulfill that mission and expand the health-related capabilities of iOS, watchOS, and other Apple platforms! As a senior member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to take a lead role in crafting the next advancements in Apple’s health software ecosystem! We work on the Health app—a platform for Health and Fitness efforts across Apple—as well as related features and experiences that broaden the definition of what our platform can do. You will work with experienced engineers, designers, and medical experts to design features that delight users as well as form a solid technical foundation for future development. Excellent engineering, collaboration, and leadership skills are all essential. Responsibilities:

  • Implement new health-related features across Apple platforms that meet or exceed our high standards for quality
  • Forge collaborative relationships with a wide variety of cross-functional teams to prototype ideas, develop plans, and make product and architectural decisions
  • Evangelize our values and contribute to design and architecture reviews
  • Communicate ideas and best practices to other teams in Health and across Apple
  • Accurately scope the effort and work items required to complete large (multi-month) feature projects
  • Design and build testable software, working closely with QA
  • Diagnose, triage, fix, and prevent issues related to functionality, reliability, and performance
