Yes Duties and Responsibilities The Postdoctoral Fellow will work primarily with Dr. Maria Vidal and Dr. Francisco Lozornio in the School of Social Work to support immigrant and refugee accompaniment-related research projects and teaching and evaluation activities with the Online Bilingual MSW Program (OBP). The Fellow's specific research related responsibilities will be developed in consultation with Dr. Vidal and Dr. Lozornio, and may include project management, program evaluation, data management/analyses and manuscript preparation. In addition, the Fellow will teach two courses per academic year courses in Loyola's Online Bilingual MSW Program and support OBP program administration by continuous program evaluation. The postdoctoral fellowship is a two-year full-time appointment. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines for postdoctoral fellows (see ). Benefits are also provided based on Loyola University Chicago benefits policies. Qualifications Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field. Applicants must have defended their dissertation before starting the fellowship and must be within three years of completing their doctorate. Preferred candidates will have:
  • Interest in research, scholarship, and teaching related to migration studies.
  • Previous experience with working with refugees. Immigrants, and immigrant and first-generation students.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, including effective oral/written communication, as evidenced by publications or grant-writing experience.
  • Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Experience conducting mixed-methods research, including quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills use statistical packages and proficiency in navigating and
maintaining both qualitative and quantitative data sets.
  • Experience with SPSS and NVivo is preferred
