Sr. Research Project Coordinator (research Administration) - Staff

Description We are seeking a _Sr. Research Project Coordinator_ who will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems. We are seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinator who will work on two projects that utilize a multi-level approach, informed by community engagement and Indigenous Methods, to promote youth wellness and prevent youth suicide, in partnership with Indigenous communities. In collaboration with an engaged research team in Baltimore and Fort Belknap Reservation, the Sr. Research Project Coordinator will work in partnership to support education and capacity-building projects related to achieving data sovereignty and eliminating health disparities at Fort Belknap.

  • *Specific Duties & Responsibilities**

+ Assist Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design. + Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on understanding of underlying study design. + Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires, background research, laboratory processing, etc. + Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations. + Participate in developing study budget. + Set up data collection system and ensure validity of study data. + Organize and quality control study data + Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals. + Conduct literature searches to provide background information. + Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter. + Other duties as assigned.

  • *In addition to the duties described above:**

+ Work with the Principal Investigator or senior research staff to develop operational plans to meet grant goals. + Work with Tribal partners to support the development of the local data governance strategy. + Regular travel to Fort Belknap site, located in Montana, to support on-site study team members in project implementation, data collection, and data dissemination.

  • *Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in a related field. + Three years of related experience. + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • *Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's degree in a related field. + Collaborative and relationship building skills, able to build trust with community members and leaders. Experience working in rural and remote reservation settings.
