About the position The Underwriter Associate position within the Underwriting Solutions Team at Hiscox is a full-time role focused on analyzing, pricing, quoting, and negotiating insurance policies. This team is responsible for a significant portion of the company's US business and aims to provide exemplary customer service while achieving production targets. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities • Underwrite, analyze, price, and negotiate renewal accounts according to company strategy and guidelines. , • Develop and maintain relationships with regional brokers and other Hiscox Underwriters. , • Achieve production targets and underwrite business profitably in a high-volume environment. , • Respond to broker inquiries. Requirements • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. , • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel. , • Desire to learn and increase product knowledge and underwriting skills. , • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). , • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. , • Entry-level position requiring under 1 year of experience. Nice-to-haves • Experience underwriting small business (Commercial insurance) accounts in a volume environment. , • Experience handling complex customer transactions in a call-center operation.
