We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced contractor to join our Atlassian team. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between our business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring our Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, etc.) is optimally configured, utilized, and continuously improved to meet evolving business needs. You will play a crucial part in designing and implementing solutions that enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and drive efficiency across various departments. Note* This role is 100% remote -Need only in Irvine, Palo Alto, Atlanta, Normal or Plymouth as this person will convert to FTE Most Important Requirements/Responsibilities: - Requirements Elicitation & Analysis -Atlassian Configuration & Administration -Solution Design & Implementation -Reporting & Analytics -Stakeholder Management & Communication Key Responsibilities:

  • * Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders (Product Owners, Development Teams, IT, Business Users) to gather, analyze, document, and prioritize business requirements for Atlassian tool configurations and enhancements.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and actionable technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and other elicitation techniques to understand current processes and identify opportunities for improvement within the Atlassian ecosystem.
  • Atlassian Configuration & Administration:
  • Perform hands-on configuration and administration of Atlassian products, primarily Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM). This includes setting up projects, workflows, schemes, custom fields, screens, issue types, and security permissions.
  • Design and optimize Jira workflows to reflect business processes and ensure efficient task management.
  • Create and manage Confluence spaces, pages, and templates to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Configure JSM portals, request types, and SLAs to deliver high-velocity service.
  • Solution Design & Implementation:
  • Design scalable and sustainable technical solutions within the Atlassian suite, considering best practices and potential integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Work closely with developers and administrators to ensure that solutions are implemented correctly and meet business requirements.
  • Support the organization's cloud migration journey for Atlassian tools, if applicable.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards using Atlassian Analytics, JQL (Jira Query Language), and other business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to provide insights into project progress, team performance, and system usage.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process optimization.
  • Documentation & Training:
  • Create and maintain clear, concise technical documentation, including process flows, system designs, configuration guides, and user manuals.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to end-users and administrators on Atlassian best practices and new functionalities to promote adoption and effective usage.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication:
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating effective communication and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively communicate progress, risks, and challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Atlassian features, plugins, and best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage Atlassian tools to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
  • Support change management activities related to Atlassian tool adoption and evolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong emphasis on technical requirements gathering and solution design.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with Atlassian products, including extensive experience in Jira (Software, Service Management), Confluence administration and configuration.
  • Proficiency in JQL (Jira Query Language) for complex searches and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and how Atlassian tools support these frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice-versa.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with APIs and integration concepts.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Atlassian Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • * Atlassian Certifications (e.g., ACP-100 Jira Administration, ACP-400 Jira Service Desk Administration).
  • Experience with other Atlassian products like Loom, Trello, Jira Product Discovery.
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) for advanced Atlassian customizations (e.g., ScriptRunner for Jira).
