As a Senior Data Scientist on our Trust team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of safety and trust on our platform. Collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product managers, designers, and operation agents to build scalable and robust systems that detect and mitigate real-world safety risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy machine learning models to detect high-risk activities and uncover valuable insights from user behavior
  • Work cross-functionally to define and collect labels for model training, optimize manual review effectiveness, and build self-satisfiable verifications that scale
  • Design and implement measurement strategies to test new product features that deter and mitigate risk while adhering to ethical guidelines
  • Apply state-of-the-art innovations to uplevel Airbnb's approaches to technical problems and publish externally to advance our standing in the scientific community
  • Present work internally to technical, engineering, and product stakeholders to iterate and generate excitement on roadmap progress

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (PhD a plus)
  • 5+ years of relevant industry and/or academic experience in developing scientific frameworks, building machine learning models, and implementing advanced experimentation techniques
  • Strong fluency in Python or R for hands-on IC work and advanced data analysis in SQL at scale
  • Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical underpinnings
  • Proven ability to create and drive technical and impactful roadmaps for the business and lead seamless execution

What We Offer:
