Job Summary

  • Teach classes in classrooms, labs, clinical, and online settings, as well as participate in campus and student activities
  • Prepare lesson plans, instruct classes, and assess student performance
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and provide regular feedback to students
  • Stay informed of current standards related to instructional methodology and participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities

Responsibilities

  • Instruct classes as assigned and prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
  • Objectively assess students for academic performance and effectively organize and present subject matter to students
  • Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and positive attitude, contributing to a positive campus culture
  • Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as required

Requirements

  • Graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
  • Associate degree in Dental Hygiene required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current dental hygiene license and minimum of four years clinical experience as a hygienist
  • Current CPR card issued by AHA and prior teaching experience preferred
