[Remote] Developer (Accounting, ETL & Integrations)

They are seeking a Developer (Accounting, ETL & Integrations) to design, develop, and support financial applications, data pipelines, and database solutions, ensuring the integrity and performance of enterprise financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting accounting processes (GL, AP, AR, payroll, and budgeting)
- Build and implement API integrations with internal and external systems (ERP, CRM, banking, and third-party platforms)
- Translate finance and accounting requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Develop backend services using C# and .NET Core
- Build automation tools to streamline financial workflows and reduce manual processes
- Design, develop, and maintain relational database structures supporting financial systems
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all accounting datasets
- Perform database tuning, indexing, and performance optimization
- Develop stored procedures, views, triggers, and data logic
- Design and implement ETL pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting
- Manage backups, recovery strategies, and security for sensitive financial data
- Develop and maintain SSRS reports for financial and operational reporting
- Design and deliver dashboards and analytics using Power BI
- Support audit and reporting requirements with accurate, reliable data outputs
- Ensure reporting aligns with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Implement controls to support compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial and customer data
- Support internal and external audit processes with documentation and reporting extracts
- Maintain clear documentation of database structures, workflows, and integrations
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to prioritize and deliver solutions
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for financial systems and reporting tools
- Train business users on reporting capabilities and system enhancements
Skills
- Advanced SQL and database development expertise (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL)
- Strong experience with C# and .NET Core development
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and data processing
- Proven experience with API integration and implementation
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines
- Experience developing and maintaining SSRS reports
- Experience designing dashboards and analytics using Power BI
- Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and performance tuning
- Working knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting structures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in software development, database development, or data engineering
- Experience with R for statistical analysis, modeling, or advanced analytics
- Experience with ERP platforms (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle)
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and cloud-based data platforms
- Understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and SOX compliance
- Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, Microsoft, Oracle, or similar)
- Experience working with accounting or financial systems preferred
